How to choose the best sunglasses for your face shape
You think it´s difficult to find the right sunglasses for you? Be sure, it´s not. There´s an easy way to figure out.
Just take a picture of your face straight from the front. Then you mark the most important parts of your face as there are:
- outer edges of the eyebrows
- both cheek bones
- each side of the jaw
Now connect the dots and what you get is an idea of your facial shape.

Oval face shape – With an oval face you can wear almost any shape of sunglasses as long as the size of the frame fits the size of your face.

Round face shape – To counteract against the face´s roundness choose angular frames with straight lines, rectangular or triangular forms. Dark colours like black or tortoise will also help to conceal the roundness of the face.

Square face shape – Curved or rounded sunglasses are the best for a square formed face. They should fit rather high to move the jawline in the background.

Oblong face shape – Similar to the square face shape, the oblong face is just about the same length from top to bottom but the length still is greater than the width. To meet this form, it is best to take very big sunglasses which cover a very great space. Thereby the impression of the great length is covered up a little.

Triangular or heart-shaped face - The triangular or heart-shaped face has a wide forehead and narrow mouth and chin. Thin frames with vertical lines work well to balance upper and lower facial half. They should not sit too high. Having a triangular face shape one should avoid too large frames, just as thick nasal bridges, remarkable colours and square shapes. Aviator sunglasses well fit either the triangle or heart-shaped face.

Diamond-shaped face – Rimless sunglasses fit the narrow forehead and chin and wide cheek bones best. To weaken the angular form a little, oval or slightly curved sunglasses function best.
Large nose – You should choose a large frame for your sunglasses if you have a big nose. Small frames will stress the size of the nose while big frames will have it appear smaller.
Long nose - Sunglasses with high extensions at the sides will attract the attention there and away from the nose. A double nasal bridge also serves to let a long nose appear shorter.
Small nose - A good choice with small noses are sunglasses in bright colours with a high bridge.
